Children are our country’s future. As parents, mentors, and leaders, we must love them, support them, teach them, and model for them how we wish all adults to act, and they will grow up to lead this country well. They are our future, our legacy. Ignore them, abuse them, and they, and we, will wither.
Mr. President, you are failing us and them. Your decisions are harming children, our environment, and our welfare and health care systems, and you are modeling for our children leadership by disrespect, fear, falsehood, anger, and selfishness—everything we as parents try to shelter our children from.
This is Independence Day, a day of change. We need you to change, and lead our children and our country on a path of fairness, honesty, dignity, and hope.
