JFK said, “Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air.” Beyond that, there are many differences among us. We have considerable (and glorious) variation in values, goals, lifestyles, etc. But there is one other thing we all have in common: reality and our perception of it. Or so it seemed. In the age of “alternative facts” and “What you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening” and “Truth isn’t truth,” the concepts of reality and integrity have become severely challenged.

I was a steadfast supporter of Bill Clinton, up until the Monica Lewinsky affair and his lying about it. That one lie was enough to get me to withdraw my support. How many thousands of lies from Donald Trump and his circle of “best people” will it take for Republicans in Congress and Trump supporters across our nation to have the moral fiber to say enough is enough? Have they no decency?

Note from KBJ: I can't think of a single lie told by Donald Trump (or George W. Bush, for that matter). What in the world are you talking about, Joe? Either you have a strange conception of lying or you're lying.
