I’m struggling to understand our current financial system.

Our president and his senior advisor apparently don’t pay any income taxes despite annual incomes in the millions of dollars [“Kushner paid almost no taxes for years, documents show,” Opinion, Oct. 12].

Our cabinet secretaries jet around the world on government owned executive jets or, if they fly commercial, they fly first class for “security reasons”.

And our congressmen get insider stock tips allowing them to bail out of investments before bad news affects stock prices.

So who does pay income taxes to support our military, infrastructure and our government? Who does pay full fare for a cramped economy section airplane seat? And who takes the hit to our 401-K retirement accounts when a stock price crashes?

Wait a minute! It’s us, the working stiffs who are paying the salaries for these grifters!
