Yesterday evening, Katherine and I watched Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999), which I had never seen. The movie, which stars Rob Schneider, is hilarious. Not every scene is funny, obviously, but most of them are. I always liked Schneider when he was on Saturday Night Live. He has a wry smile and a low-key delivery, like another of my favorites, Ben Stiller. My favorite scene was the one in which Schneider's character dates a woman with Tourette Syndrome. Could this movie be made today, when everyone is so sensitive about disabilities? By the way, the title is redundant. It should be either "Deuce Bigalow: Gigolo" or "Deuce Bigalow: Male Prostitute."
