The headline “Threats, Blame but No Solution” appeared on the front page Dec. 30. During his campaign, President Donald Trump said over and over again, “Mexico will pay for the wall.” A month or so ago, he said he would take full responsibility for a government shutdown.
So why is he now blaming the Democrats and trying to make American taxpayers pay for the wall? Clearly, Mr. Trump—and only Mr. Trump—is to blame for this expensive standoff that impacts so many Americans.
