Mary Queen of Scots 2Yesterday evening, at the Magnolia Theatre in Dallas, Katherine and I watched Mary Queen of Scots (2018). I recently purchased the book on which the movie is based. It's quite long, and I have other things to read, so I'll set it aside until summer. Katherine and I have been to Scotland twice, in 2016 and again in 2018, and enjoyed it very much. I've read two histories of Scotland and am now ready to read about particular figures such as Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, King Edward, and Mary Stuart. The movie was well done, though some of the dialogue was difficult to comprehend because of the accents and the speed with which it was delivered. The scenery was gorgeous. I'm glad that the violence wasn't graphic. If you're interested in Scottish history, you'll want to catch this movie.

Here is the trailer.
