I’m in complete agreement with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that it’s not worth initiating impeachment proceedings against President Trump. Such an action would not just be divisive, but would also fire up Trump’s stubbornly loyal base in next year’s presidential campaign. In 2020, let Trump be scrutinized for his sorry record in office, the thousands of lies he has told, and his relentless attempts to consolidate his power and subvert our democracy.
