Concerning “Brunei human rights” (News of the Day, May 7): Even though Brunei has announced a moratorium on new Shariah criminal laws that would have allowed stoning people for gay sex, it’s outrageous that the Trump Administration has remained coldly silent on this issue. It’s times like this that I wish that Hillary Clinton, who remarked that gay rights are human rights when she served as U.S. Secretary of State, were now serving as our nation’s chief executive.
