Ruth Ann Dailey’s June 30 column “‘She’s Not My Type’” would have us believe that President Donald Trump’s behavior toward women is somehow given cover by that of Bill Clinton.

Now, I would never claim that Mr. Clinton is a perfect model of the modern married gentleman. However, on the Crass-O-Meter that Mr. Trump routinely slams with a sledge, Mr. Clinton barely moved the ringer off its base. He was impeached for far less serious reasons than the flawed Republicans find quite tolerable in Mr. Trump.

Several—upwards of 16—women have accused Mr. Trump of unwanted advances amounting to sexual assault. There are also his own comments about his own behavior.

He routinely denies them all, but is not required to testify under oath. In fact, his attorneys strenuously resist him doing so about anything whatsoever.

Given his loose relationship with anything approaching objective truth, I can certainly see why.
