I am a registered Democrat but my political views have nothing to do with my party affiliation. I never vote straight party lines, but for those who I think are best qualified for the job. In this case, it was not for the person currently in the White House (nor did I vote for Hillary Clinton, so let me off that hook).

I refer to President Donald Trump as “that person” and not as my president or a man because, to me, he is neither. Every time I think he can’t do anything else to amaze me, he opens his mouth. He insults our allies, their leaders, our U.S. citizens and American cities, and defends the leaders that he is having a bromance with, even the ones who continue to make him look like a bigger fool than he already is (North Korea, Russia).

With Ms. Clinton, it was “lock her up” and with the squad it is “send her back.” All are American citizens and three were born here. If deportation is his answer to our current situation, maybe we should start with wives No. 1 and 3. What a hypocrite. And what is his country of origin?

My mother had a saying: “Going to hell in a hand basket.” Unfortunately that is the direction we are headed, and sharing in the blame are the GOP lawmakers who turn a blind eye and a deaf ear because they are more concerned with their jobs than in what is right, legally and morally. Shame on them all.
