Thank you for “Climate a must on 2020 agenda” (Editorial, Sept. 6). It’s vital that the Democratic presidential candidates have town hall discussions and even an entire debate dedicated to climate change, since our reckless Science Denier in Chief gives the subject short shrift, deregulates environmental protections, and makes ridiculous assertions like energy-saving wind turbines cause cancer.
When Donald Trump ran for president in 2016, he attacked former President Barack Obama’s carbon footprint because of his regular use of Air Force One.
And yet, since taking office, Trump has taken dozens of trips on this jet (and cost the taxpayers billions of dollars) for weekend golfing at his clubs in Florida and New Jersey, leaving a carbon Bigfoot-sized footprint. This 45th president president may not care about the world he will be leaving to his children and grandchildren, but the millions of Americans who do care want the issue of climate change to be discussed loudly, clearly and frequently.

Note from KBJ: Buy a clue, Umberto. President Trump has not assailed private jets, so he can't be a hypocrite for using one.
