Regarding “Fate of ‘Dreamers’ now in hands of high court” (Page 1, Nov. 12): The reason that a case weighing the legality of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program is now before the U.S. Supreme Court is simple. The 45th president has an ongoing animus toward his predecessor, and simply wants to undo as many Obama-era initiatives, from the Affordable Care Act to our participation in the Paris Climate Accord to DACA, as possible. It is tragic that the so-called Dreamers, who were brought to the U.S. illegally as young children by their parents, have been put into a hellish legal limbo by a vindictive and nativist president.
They are poised to become important contributing members of our society, and are law-abiding and dignified. Those same adjectives cannot be applied to the current Oval Office occupant.
