As I watched the impeachment hearings, I could not understand how the Republicans could not see, what was to me, clear and dangerous wrongdoing by President Trump. Finally, I understood their vile behavior toward the witnesses. They could see no wrong in Trump or themselves because that is how they behave. They see no wrong in insulting, demeaning, smearing and questioning the patriotism of the witnesses.
I could understand their disagreement about what rises to the level of impeachment. What I don’t understand is their need to vilify and destroy in order to make their case. I guess they get it from the boss, who wants his minions to look nasty and tough. They succeeded.
