I am appalled by the suggestion that President Trump has not been actually impeached because (a) the vote in the House was not bipartisan and/or (b) it is not legitimate until the articles have been sent to the Senate for a sham “trial.”
It is clearly stated in the Constitution, further elucidated by writings of the founders, and set in precedent (however minimal) that the House has the sole power to impeach by a simple majority vote. There is no language to suggest that majority must be composed of any particular type of representatives. It is as ridiculous to argue that it must be bipartisan as, say, that it must consist of equal numbers of representatives from each and every state.
Unfortunately, there was not one single House Republican with the moral backbone to stand up to this treasonous president and finally say, “Enough.” The disgrace-in-chief has been impeached. Whether he has the opportunity to face his accusers, as he so disingenuously claims he wants to do, is up to his sycophants in the Senate.
