President Trump wants every comment about the coronavirus by any US official to be cleared by Vice President Mike Pence. Pence is going to be a very, very busy guy over the next many weeks; he doesn’t have a rug large enough to sweep those comments under.
This is simply another attempt to turn the United States into Trump’s personal fiefdom, and I suspect it’s likely to backfire on him terribly.
