The media are reporting bombshell revelations from John Bolton’s book of never-before-reported instances of bluster, ignorance, incompetence, self-dealing, and impulsive and “stunningly uninformed” behavior. I’m unimpressed. Isn’t this just confirmation of the antics that have been on full display since Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign commenced?
Unfortunately, Bolton may only have succeeded in joining the “James Comey Club” by aiding Trump in such a way that the former national security adviser is belittled and dismissed by both sides.
Perhaps the best outcome would be that Bolton whittles away at a percentage of Trump’s marginal supporters and Trump succeeds in making his life difficult. That would seem just rewards.
