To the editor:
The president always ridicules individuals who are smarter than he is, so it is no surprise to read that he is now targeting Fauci.
Yes, we are tired of COVID-19, as the president argues. Perhaps we would be in a better place by now if Trump had dealt with the threat.
But mainly we are really tired of Trump.

Note from KBJ: Donald Trump is among the smartest presidents we've had, Bette. He's smarter than you are; that's for sure. Also, Anthony Fauci hasn't been elected to anything. He's an adviser. He offers advice to the president. Other people play the same role. Sometimes they disagree. But even if they agree with one another, they don't get to make policy. The president was elected (by us) to make policy. He can ignore Fauci if he wants and he can fire him if he wants. One more point: unless you worship science, you should ask whether a particular scientist is acting in his or her capacity as a scientist or in some other capacity. Science has become politicized. President Trump isn't anti-science. He's anti-politicized-science.
