Supporters of Donald Trump are an enigma. They ignore facts, actions and results of investigations. They seem to live in an alternate reality where a lie is truth, incompetence is genius, shirking responsibility is a virtue and attempting to undermine our democratic election process is patriotic. They seem oblivious to being “played” and manipulated.
Trump will leave one dark legacy: Researchers have estimated that 70% to 99% of the COVID-19 deaths in America could have been avoided if Trump had acted to protect the nation when he received the deadly information on the virus. Instead, for two months, Trump lied and withheld the information and refused to implement infectious disease protocols. To put this in perspective, Trump’s incompetence cost the lives of more Americans than all those lost on Sept. 11 and in the combined wars of Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and World War I. Support of Trump is equivalent to subversion.
