The Christmas season is one of joy, merriment, family get-togethers and goodwill toward man. However, this year we shall not be celebrating the best of times since the nation is being profoundly tested by the pandemic.
There are high unemployment and business closures, widespread hunger and despair, looming evictions and mortgage foreclosures, millions in the U.S. who are ill with COVID-19 and those who have perished from it.
Also there are too many health providers worn to the bone treating the coronavirus, and hospitals running out of room and supplies. There has been a profound lack of leadership in our nation’s capital in handling the pandemic and it is hoped that the new administration will institute measures to address these vexing challenges.
We hope that expertise will enable us to truly celebrate all holidays together, not just virtually, in the not-too-distant future.
