The Wedding Singer (1998)Two evenings ago, Katherine and I watched The Wedding Singer (1998) on Amazon Prime (at a cost of only $4.32, counting sales tax). Katherine saw the movie many years ago, but I never had. The movie is set in 1985 and is downright silly, with a few uproariously funny scenes. Adam Sandler plays a wedding singer who pursues a woman (played by Drew Barrymore), wooing her with his singing and charm. Billy Idol makes a cameo appearance. The soundtrack includes many great songs from the 1980s, such as "Hold Me Now," by Thompson Twins. It was jarring to be reminded of the clothing worn in the 1980s. (Think Miami Vice.) All in all, I enjoyed the movie. It brought back memories (all fond) of my years in Tucson.
