Apparently, free speech at UC Berkeley is only free if one agrees with the agitators.
What kind of university has students unable to listen to an opposing point of view?
What a sad state of affairs.
Students used to go to a university to hear all points of view, to learn to make informed decisions.
What about the rights of those students who wanted to hear the speaker? Too bad.
I have degrees from three universities and, in my day, one simply did not attend gatherings featuring speakers whose views one found uninteresting. Preventing anyone from speaking, especially on a college campus, is an egregious violation of the First Amendment.

Surrealistic Pillow (1967). This album was released 50 years ago this month. It doesn't seem possible.
Addendum: I heard this song today on my bike ride. I thought, "I should be able to play that on my acoustic guitar." Sure enough, I learned it. It's pretty easy, actually. My voice will never be as good as that of Grace Slick, but I enjoy singing the song anyway.

Katherine and I saw Foreigner yesterday evening at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. I had never seen the band in concert. Although none of the six original members was present, the musicians now constituting the band did a great job of mimicking the songs. I particularly enjoyed "Juke Box Hero." Here is the setlist:

This is why I no longer read the New York Times. I used to post a letter to the editor each day from the Times's website, but I can no longer tolerate the dishonesty and viciousness displayed there.

Foreigner 4 (1981). Katherine and I will see Foreigner in concert this evening.
