I have a new goal, as of today: to break this man's record. You think I'm kidding, don't you? You really think I'm kidding, don't you? You don't know me.

Ace Frehley (1978). For those of you who don't recognize the name, Ace was the original lead guitarist for the band Kiss. This song is one of his own compositions.

I just saw a billboard (on Interstate 30, between Dallas and Fort Worth) that read: "Give a Damn; Don't Drive Drunk." Isn't "damn" a swear word that many parents tell their children not to use? I can imagine a parent being mighty upset that his or her children must see that sign.
Addendum: It may have been a variant of this:

I believe I saw that Megyn Kelly is moving from Fox News Channel to NBC. Thank God! That allows me to watch an extra hour of Fox News every weekday evening.

To the Editor:
Re “On Climate Change, Look to the States” (editorial, Dec. 26):
As you pointed out, states have an important role to play in climate and environmental policy, as do cities, market forces and individual citizens. A case in point is the low cost of natural gas, which in less than a decade has closed dirtier coal-burning, electricity-generating plants and caused many New York City apartments to convert from polluting heavy heating oil.
For those who fear backsliding in federal environmental policy, make a personal resolution in 2017 that this is the year to make your home more efficient, install solar panels and a green roof, use a compost bin and ride a bike to work. The cumulative effect of those direct actions can be significant.

The writer, an environmental consultant, was commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection from 2011 to 2014.
Note from KBJ: I support the second paragraph wholeheartedly. If you believe that the globe is warming, change the way you live. Stop trying to coerce, control, and intimidate the rest of us. (Memo to Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Gore, Bono, and other do-gooders: stop flying!)
