  • Guy Cromwell Field (1887-1955)The special function of the philosopher, as I understand it, is, in the first place, to try to extract from the way in which people talk and act the assumptions that in fact they are working on. He has then to develop them, to show their implications, their relations of compatibility or incompatibility with other views, their consequences, and so on. Thus the philosopher can help to make clear the nature of the possible alternatives. But the final choice between them must, in the last resort, be taken by each individual, including the philosopher, for himself.

  • Regarding those individuals who supported the presidency of Donald Trump, how much more proof do they need that he was the worst thing that could have happened to our country? The day the country heard his conversation with Billy Bush as he disgustingly discussed how he treated women was the day I was positive would end his candidacy, but it did not.

Somehow, they still supported him. His presidency has done damage to our country. He has not made our country “great again,” he has done irreparable harm. He has alienated our friends around the world. He has allowed our country to be used by the likes of Russia and Saudi Arabia.

His goal when he came into office was to destroy everything that former President Barack Obama did for the good of our country. He passed tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals in the country, the ones who needed them the least. His current goal is to diminish health care for those who need it the most. His lies have hurt our economy, we are all losing money because he lied about his last conversation with China when he told the country that an agreement had been reached about trade and tariffs which was not true. It began the slide of our stock market.

How much more proof do people need to see that support for him was a horrible mistake? I hope they are beginning to see the error of their ways. Of course at this point, it is too late. I was not thrilled that Hillary Clinton was the Democratic candidate, but, at least I knew she had the experience needed to run our country. She would have run our country with knowledge, not hatred.

When all is said and done, I feel sure Mr. Trump and his family will go down in history as the most corrupt group of individuals to have resided in the White House and that is very sad.

Note from KBJ: Michele Janosko doesn’t understand those of us who voted for Donald Trump:

    1. He’s the best thing (not the worst thing) that could have happened to our country.
    2. The Billy Bush tape didn’t end Trump’s candidacy because it’s not important.
    3. Trump’s presidency is repairing our country, not damaging it.
    4. Trump has not allowed our country to be used by other countries; he is disallowing other countries to use us.
    5. Trump’s goal coming into office was to reverse the perilous course Barack Obama set us on; so yes, Trump wants to “destroy” much of what Obama did.
    6. Trump “passed” tax cuts for everyone, not just the rich. People’s money belongs to them, not to the government.
    7. Trump’s goal is to save the health-care system, which Obama and his fellow Democrats all but destroyed.
    8. Trump has told no lies. Do you even know what a lie is?
    9. Support for Trump was the best thing many of us have ever done. We continue to support him and will vote for him again in 2020.
    10. Hillary Clinton would have been a disaster as president. She is a criminal. Thank God she was defeated.

    I hope this helps.

  • For those that naively ask why didn’t the Republicans get approval to build the Wall over the last year, it is because IN THE SENATE WE NEED 10 DEMOCRAT VOTES, and they will gives us “NONE” for Border Security! Now we have to do it the hard way, with a Shutdown. Too bad! @FoxNews
