  • For anyone to still claim that the Russia investigation is a “witch hunt” is incomprehensible. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has produced indictments or guilty pleas from 32 people and three Russian companies. Mueller and his legal team should abide by the same oath as federal employees, who are sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies and faithfully discharge the duties of the office they are about to enter, “so help me God.” To view their investigation as somehow politically motivated is irrational and disturbing.

President Donald Trump’s actions on the other hand are indicative of someone whose campaign may have conspired with Russian operatives to influence the presidential election and obstructed justice by trying to cover up the conspiracy. The president lied about the Trump Tower meeting and the reason for firing James Comey. He will not release his tax returns. He tries to deflect and distract from truthful reporting on the investigation by constantly attacking the media. His coziness and kowtowing to Vladimir Putin is inexplicable and appalling.

Mueller is a Department of Justice-appointed special counsel who is leading a criminal investigation, and Trump’s refusal to meet with his team only bolsters the appearance of wrongdoing and enables the feeble duck-and-dodge legal strategy to delay the process. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Trump has something to hide.

Given the plethora of information Mueller’s team has processed and continues to develop, it’s apparent this investigation is still ongoing. It will culminate only after all leads are exhausted and the special counsel has acted on its findings. There cannot be a timetable for this. It is imperative this investigation be allowed to reach its rightful conclusion.

  • Our Country was built on Tariffs, and Tariffs are now leading us to great new Trade Deals – as opposed to the horrible and unfair Trade Deals that I inherited as your President. Other Countries should not be allowed to come in and steal the wealth of our great U.S.A. No longer!

  • With all due respect to Roger Scruton, he is clueless about Donald Trump. On trade, for example, Trump doesn't prefer tariffs; he wants there to be no tariffs at all, by or on anyone. The one thing he doesn't want is for other countries to put tariffs on our exports when we don't put tariffs on other countries' exports. Fair is fair. If other countries feel the pain, then perhaps they will eliminate their tariffs, at which time we will eliminate ours as well. Scruton would do well to read Thomas Hobbes's Leviathan (1651). Trump is no fool and will not allow the United States or its people to play the fool.

  • Donald Trump's approval rating is 50%. Barack Obama's approval rating at the same point of his presidency (14 August 2010) was 46%.
