  • Katherine and I took our 10-year-old grandson Lukas to the theater yesterday evening to see Coco (2017). It wasn't bad! The movie had a sophisticated plot, interesting dialogue, and funny scenes. It's amazing how different cartoons are than when I was a child.

  • While I have to admire the jaw-dropping audacity of Margaret Moore's statements and alliteration in her Dec. 6 letter, "Tough out Trump's term," I most vehemently disagree with her sentiments. As President Trump is at the helm of the 'ship of state', his sexual and personal misdeeds are even more impermissible, especially in a world leader. Moore's statement, "sexual promiscuity is so common among men of power," is irrelevant, as this is exactly what makes it more reprehensible. This attitude reeks of Stockholm Syndrome and is inexcusable in the current era. Men have a responsibility to act with honor and respect toward women, and we should be held responsible for our actions.

Moreover, while anarchy is chaotic, I would prefer a morally-based anarchy in resistance to Trumpian tactics than a 'grit your teeth and bear it" attitude. The current system has failed the American people on every level, and Trump is the culmination of that failure. Trump's road to unemployment began the day after he was elected, and it will not stop until he is eternally banned from society, preferably after his impeachment in 2018 following the midterm elections.

  • CNN’S slogan is CNN, THE MOST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS. Everyone knows this is not true, that this could, in fact, be a fraud on the American Public. There are many outlets that are far more trusted than Fake News CNN. Their slogan should be CNN, THE LEAST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS!

  • To Live and Die in L.A. (1985). This may be my favorite album of all time. The movie for which it serves as a soundtrack is terrific.

  • This woman is delusional, as is her heroine, Crooked Hillary. Why can't the Clintons and their acolytes accept that Hillary Clinton was an atrocious candidate: unintelligent, unaccomplished, unenthusiastic, entitled, and corrupt? Thank God for Donald Trump, who kept this harpy and shrew out of the White House.

  • Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has pleaded guilty for lying to the FBI as a result of the investigation conducted by special counsel Robert Muller. I’ve made a point to watch both Fox’s and CNN’s reporting. This is what I’ve seen: This is likely just the tip of the iceberg. I invite all those who support President Donald Trump and the Republican Party to respond if I’m wrong as the facts roll in.

Fox News downplays the entire situation and provides cover for the president and his administration as facts increasingly point to involvement at the highest levels. CNN is reporting facts and using legal experts to analyze the significant potentials going forward.

Faced with facts by most legitimate news reporting outlets, a man like Mr. Trump was still elected president. In an effort to have someone who “tells it like it is” and “isn’t a part of the political” establishment, we’ve seen an electoral majority of Americans put a person without moral or ethical boundaries into the most powerful position in the world.

I feel bad for people who tune in only to the conservative networks. They are going to feel blindsided when the facts continue to roll out. They’re going to be fed a line by Fox about conspiracies of Democrats and establishment Republicans and will never believe the actual truth. It will all somehow be President Barack Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s fault. Yet if this had been either of them, they would have been armed with their pitchforks and screaming, “Lock them up!”
