I feel sorry for Michelle Malkin, who is one of the bravest people I know. She receives hate mail such as this on a regular basis. I get hate mail, too, but nothing like this. Nearly all of Michelle's haters either say or imply that she is a traitor to her race and sex. What's that all about? Are we bound to think in certain ways because of things beyond our control, such as our race or sex? What is the basis of this racial, sexual, or ethnic determinism, and why does it emanate almost exclusively from the political left? It gives the lie to the idea that only conservatives are bigoted.
Addendum: It will not surprise you that Brian Leiter, the academic thug, joins in, calling Michelle an "empty vessel." Can you say "racist" and "sexist"? I have some questions for Leiter: Is everyone's thought determined by his or her race and sex? If so, then yours is, too. If not everyone's thought is determined by his or her race and sex, whose is and whose isn't, and why? Your remarks about Clarence Thomas ("a lunatic") and Michelle Malkin ("an empty vessel") suggest that determinism applies only to minorities. But why would that be? Do you think that minorities are incapable of thinking for themselves? Do you think that minorities are less intelligent than white males?
