To the Editor:
In “The Stump Theory” (column, Feb. 12), Gail Collins is right on the money: “Old is in.”
For better and worse, baby boomers have defined and micromanaged mass culture for more than 40 years—or, as Neil Young crooned, “from Marilyn through Madonna.”
Just check out the amount of media ad space given to retirement, incontinence, E.D. and anti-aging products. And judging by the outlandish popularity of such superstar sexagenarians as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Donald Trump, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep and Bruce Springsteen (both 60 this year), it’s going to be déjà vu all over again in the second Sixties.

Note from KBJ: You've heard of spoiled children, right? Baby Boomers are the spoiled generation.
