John Sullivan just wrote to me by e-mail to say that this blog isn't accepting comments. I've noticed in the past that there are days in which no comments come to me for approval. Since I hadn't done anything to the blog, I figured it was just a fluke. Maybe it's a problem with TypePad. Immediately after John wrote, I posted a comment of my own on the previous post. It worked fine. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I assure you I have nothing to do with it. I like receiving comments and approve just about all of them. The only ones I don't approve are those in which something other than a full name appears. I don't want a blog in which people hide their identity. I want a blog in which everyone knows everyone else and treats everyone civilly. If there is one thing I hate about the Internet, it is anonymity. People who hide their identity are far more likely to be abusive than those who don't. I'm doing my part to civilize the Internet. It may be a small part, but it's all I can do.
