Progressives believe, and never cease saying, that conservatives are anti-science. In my experience, it's progressives, not conservatives, who are anti-science. Think of all the scientific topics that are taboo for leftists: sex differences; racial disparities in IQ; investigations into the etiology of homosexuality; the long-term consequences of abortion on women who undergo them; which religions are the most violent; &c. And guess who politicized science, turning it into an arm of the state? Hint: It wasn't conservatives.
