  • Regarding the letter from David Navadeh (July 12, “Why We Back Trump”) about evangelical Christians’ support for Donald Trump: Do evangelicals actually think Mr. Trump gives a fig for their beliefs? He’s got them in the palm of his hand, and all this prevaricating panderer needs to do is to tweet some inflammatory gibberish to ensure their votes and inflate the ranks at one of his ego-boosting, self-aggrandizing rallies.

Outlaw abortion? How hard do you think it would be for a “billionaire” like Mr. Trump to facilitate an abortion, even if it were illegal? Remember, he—and possibly his latest Supreme Court nominee—believes, as president, he is above the law. Remember Nixon’s “When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal”?

Mr. Trump on the sanctity of marriage? Oh, sure! Come to think of it, when was the last time he attended a church service?

Do evangelicals really wish to impose a Christianized version of Sharia law on believers and nonbelievers alike, the Constitution be damned? Remember Sharia law, the Islamic code of conduct and punishment that the supposedly Kenyan, Muslim, socialist, communist Barack Hussein Obama craved desperately to enforce upon the our [sic] “Christian” nation? Heaven forbid! Mr. Trump is the anti-Obama, so we’ll just turn a blind eye to his transgressions. Oh, boy!

The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and freedom from religion. Whoever you are, practice whatever you believe in the privacy and sanctity of your church, home and heart. And do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Note from KBJ: With opponents like Ian Short, Donald Trump doesn't need friends. The derangement of Trump haters is driving voters into Trump's camp.

  • Farmers have been on a downward trend for 15 years. The price of soybeans has fallen 50% since 5 years before the Election. A big reason is bad (terrible) Trade Deals with other countries. They put on massive Tariffs and Barriers. Canada charges 275% on Dairy. Farmers will WIN!

  • To the editor:

It was encouraging to read that because of the public outcry in his own country, President Trump finally accepted the conclusions of American intelligence agencies about Russia’s meddling in our 2016 election.

I believe most citizens are beginning to see a pattern with Trump talking out of both sides of his mouth. Fortunately, the American press is exposing this reprehensible behavior.

Perhaps, the salient words often attributed to Abraham Lincoln capture my sentiments: “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

Note from KBJ: Every country "meddles" in every other country's elections, Tom. That is hardly news. The only reason you think it's news is that your candidate, Crooked Hillary, lost. Get over it. Stop beating the drums for war with Russia.
