  • I had a good month abike. I rode 650.3 miles in 31 days, which is an average of 20.97 miles per day. My goal for the year is to average 20 miles per day, which comes to 7,300 miles. I'm on pace. It's hot in North Texas already, but three hours in the sun never hurt anybody.

  • UTArlington-01-1My contract with the University of Texas at Arlington runs from 1 September to 31 May. Today I complete my 29th year at UTA. I taught for one year (1988-1989) at Texas A&M University before coming to UTA, so I've been a professor for 30 years. Who knows? I could go another 10. I enjoy teaching; I enjoy researching and writing scholarly essays; and, while I don't like committee meetings, there aren't enough of them to oppress me. In short, I like my job.

  • Our democracy is slowly eroding. This president and his administration have shown complete disregard for the Constitution of the United States. They have continually tried to undermine and control the Department of Justice, FBI and the courts.

While the full blame cannot be solely put on the administration, it is my belief that the alt-right is working in unison with the administration to take control of the Republican Party and the United States of America. The traditional Republican Party stands by quietly while this is happening as it fears retribution from Donald Trump’s base at the midterm elections.

We are slowly losing a two-party system as the established Republican Party refuses to accept any responsibility. For our democracy to continue, we must have a two-party system. Otherwise, absolute control of one party will become the norm, and our Constitution will no longer be valid.

I still have hope that the people will recognize this and turn out at the polls to ensure the continuance of this great democratic American experiment.

  • Not that it matters but I never fired James Comey because of Russia! The Corrupt Mainstream Media loves to keep pushing that narrative, but they know it is not true!

  • Regarding the Sentinel’s front page article, could Donald Trump’s curious change of heart about a trade war with China and newfound concern for Chinese jobs have any connection to a Trump project recently scoring a huge loan from the Chinese government?
